Intro to Clay: Hand building & Pottery Wheel for 9-13 yr olds
5 week Tuesday PM October 4- November 1
This class will focus on fun easy to create sculptures and functional items that kids use everyday. Learn to make cups, bowls, planters. Use color to decorate and tools to carve designs. Most of the time will be on hand building and partial time will be dedicated to taking turns on the pottery wheel where you will learn to make small bowls and cup shapes.
Hand Building and Wheel!
Learn coiling, pinching, carving and fun tools like the slab roller. The students will be introduced to the potter’s wheel. Make functional pots and sculpture.
Special notes:
This class is limited to children between the ages of 9-13. (Age 9 when the class starts)

Diane Moore
Hi! My name is Diane Moore and I am currently pursuing a double major in ceramics and psychology at UW Milwaukee. At Cream City Clay, I teach an introduction to hand building class and help run the kids’ camp. The most exciting part about teaching for me is watching others form connections with each other while they are creating art. My biggest inspiration is my mother, Teresa, shown on the right in my picture.
