Centerpieces: Platters, Lidded Jars & Hedges Mondays 6pm-8:30pm

Fall I: 9/14/26-10/19/26  Inst. Andrew Meyler

Level: Beginning – Intermediate

Ceramics as a medium has a history that is intertwined with food and floral arranging.  From the presentation of a table to the storage of food, ceramic objects serve the mundane and the ornate. This course will explore the relationship between the visual and functional aspects of the table centerpiece. Using hand building techniques we will produce platters for food presentation, non traditional vase forms, and lidded vessels for food storage. Bringing these forms together in a cohesive design to build a larger centerpiece that can both activate the space with its presence and serve the meal you have so diligently prepared.
