Art of the Tile 7 week class

Fall I: 9/14/26-10/26/26 Inst: Heather Eiden

Level: Beginner-Intermediate

Learn to make flat functional tiles that are designed with multiple surface techniques including coiling carving and sculpting.
Make tiles of all shapes, sizes and thicknesses. Heather will demonstrate her carving style and unique watercolor glaze application techniques
Develop your own style of tile design.

Learn to make multiples and play with ways to interlock different shapes and patterns.

Make extras to test your glazes and be curious.

With Heather Eiden who has been making tiles for over 30 years.

Special Notes

• This class is on the ground floor and is ADA Accessible.
• Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
• Bring items to press in to the clay to create a repeatable clay tile. Items can include plastic toy animals, shells, leaves, flowers, buttons, or low relief items with interesting textures.
•  Street parking on 71st street and Free 4 hour Parking in back
• 8 person maximum (wait-list is available for additional people)
