Hand Building I : 6 weeks Wednesday 6:00-8:30pm

Winter: 1/10/24 – 2/14/24  Inst: Sami Mooney

Level: Beginning – Intermediate

Learn the basics of creating clay objects by hand using the methods of coil construction, soft & hard slab and the most basic of pinch. You will learn how to use the slab roller, extruder, slump, hump and sprig molds and other various tools to give your pottery texture and diverse, interesting structure. Create sculpture or larger functional pottery that is not easily attained on the pottery wheel to use in your daily life.

Special Notes

• Bring inspiring pictures or items to stamp into the clay if you have them.
• Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
• Trim nails short and leave rings/watches at home
•  Free Parking in back
• 10 person maximum (wait-list is available for additional people)
• This class is held upstairs. Please contact us if you are unable to do stairs and we will make accommodations
